PARENTS

The average child will spend over 1000 hours every year in school and they will spend less than 50 hours in church.  The average parent has more than 10 times the opportunities to discuss spiritual issues in one year than a church leader does in 10 years.  The church has limited potential to impact the heart of your child.  WHAT HAPPENS AT HOME in many ways is more important than what happens at church!

KidStuf Live

That's why we want to make sure that you don't miss KidStuf Live! KidStuf Live is NOT just for kids. KidStuf Live is where kids take their parents to learn. It's a fast, noisy, zany, multimedia, kid-focused, parent-centered, virtue-driven, 45-minute extravaganza. KidStuf Live is the best way for parents to catch up on what we talking about on UpStreet so they can keep talking about it all month long. For more information, go to www.kidstuf.com.

We have lots of volunteers and staff every week creating ideas, crafting environments and coaching kids to help them grow up the right way. BUT WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!

We need you to help us help your kids by doing 3 things.

1. Bring your kids to 252 Basics.
Be sure to help them attend a consistent hour, with the same group of friends and the same leader every week.

2. Make KidStuf Live a priority.
Don't miss this window of opportunity in your child's life to do something with them.  Remember, UpStreet and KidStuf Live work together to help you impact your child's spiritual life.

3. Talk about it every week at home.
Remember, no one can have more influence on your child's faith than you can as a parent. One great tool to help facilitate discussion with your kids and spiritual growth is discussed below.

The resources you will find in the Virtue Pack are designed to be strategically placed within your home as reminders of a specific virtue and its related principles each month. They should be placed in the location that corresponds with the time they are to be used. These pieces will be constant reminders to you and your children and help you to prioritize each of the 4 FamilyTimes. As you go through the virtue pack you will notice that it introduces you to all the pieces and explains the concepts in more detail.

The plan is based on the Hebrew method of teaching children. It helps parents reprioritize four significant times that are routinely within every home: BedTime, MealTime, DriveTime, and Morning Time.

The FamilyTimes™ tools do not involve preparation nor do they have to be pulled off a book shelf. They are used during the four significant family times.

In addition to ordering an individual Virtue Pack in the FamilyWise store, the packs are also available through a subscription plan where a certain virtue is the focus for each month [ click here ]. This FamilyTimes™ product reinforces a three year plan with specific tools mailed to the home once a month.

EACH TOOL REINFORCES ONE OF THE FOUR TIMES OF DAY AND HELPS THE PARENT MAXIMIZE THEIR TIME AND FULFILL THEIR INTENDED ROLE (COUNSELOR, TEACHER, FRIEND OR COACH).
